From Palestine

Yesterday, April 17, in Palestine we commemorated Prisoners Day – the day to strengthen and reaffirm our struggle for the liberation of the over five thousand Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

It is a day, in which we stand as well in solidarity with all those that are lingering in jails around the world, subject to repression. In particular, we want to express our solidarity with our comrades in India, Gautam Navlakha and Anand Teltumbde.

Palestinian popular activists and youth volunteers have already started work with dozens of the 255 marginalized communities most at risk, providing them with health kits and help them to organize local response groups.

We are determined to bring support and solidarity to all 255 communities!

We need international support and pressure to more than ever. Palestinians today are in the dramatic situation to have to choose between adhering to the prevention measures to safeguard themselves from the Coronavirus or to continue, against all odds, collective popular resistance. Either way they risk their lives. SHARE THE CALL: the protection of the Palestinian people’s basic human and land rights should not be suspended.

As the dust settles over Trump’s announcement of the ‘Deal of the Century’, what is the real impact of the White House vision for Palestine? It bring us back to the past, it exposes the present but it is today more than any time before up to the people in Palestine, across the region and worldwide to determine the future.

Still wondering how to join? This is the moment to ensure that 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, we break the wall of silence about the Wall in Palestine and the increasing number of physical and immaterial walls we are struggling against.

Over 200 people are attending the conference that brings together Palestinian popular struggle towards a national strategy to be able to resist Israel's settler colonial project and strengthen the role of the BDS.

The popular committees and the popular resistance networks invite all those that are fighting oppression, discrimination, racism and colonisation across the globe to join us in the ‘United in Struggle’ from 24-26 October in Palestine to build a united front against racism, repression, colonialism, exclusion and exploitation. Let’s join hands in a common struggle for justice and freedom.

Last Friday, in Kufr Malek a mass demonstration has protested the establishment of a new settlement outpost on the village lands. The mobilization comes after last year four settler outposts were stopped by popular resistance. One settlement at a time, we are challenging Israel's settlement project and apartheid regime.

Today, Eid al Adhar, the most important holiday in the Muslim calendar, Israel attempted a take over of the Al Aqsa mosque in its ongoing policy to Judaize Jerusalem. Yet, tens of thousands of Palestinians gathered for prayers at the Mosque defended their holy places, rights and dignity.

As Palestinian grassroots Stop the Wall Campaign we reiterate our solidarity with the Mexican people and all those affected by the US Wall and the Trump administration’s anti-migration policies. The years of joint struggles together with Mexican movements have shown us the atrocious level of necropolitics, that include endless violations of human rights and the rights of the peoples of Mexico. Israel contributes with its weapons, technology and trainings to facilitate this veritable war on the people and reaps huge profits from this dirty business. This urgently underlines the need for the people to unite in the fight against militarization and for peace, justice and freedom.

On May 17, for the 5th year in a row the Land Defense Coalition organized together with the Falestiniyat movement, formed by Palestinians inside the Green Line the commemoration of Tantura Massacre."Everyone felt for one moment that Tantura was liberated that evening and return had been achieved".

73 European Palestine solidarity and migrants rights groups and networks from 17 European states have chosen Nakba Day 2019 – the Day Palestinians reaffirm their commitment to the struggle for the return of their refugees – to unite in a joint call for a #WorldwithoutWalls in order to claim the right for all to move, to stay and to return in freedom, justice and equality.

2018 has seen Stop the Wall involved deeply in the struggle against Israel’s relentless efforts to reduce the Palestinian people into Bantustans, dispossessed, displaced and enclosed by walls and checkpoints. Against all odds, we have achieved a number of victories and given hope and support in the crucial moments to our people in struggle. Stop the Wall is now releasing an inspiring summary of our struggles and achievements throughout 2018. Reinforcing Steadfastness is the main strategy to resist Israeli plans of expulsion and dispossession.

Beginning of the year, Israel's minister for 'strategic affairs' had called for the treatment Palestinian prisoners are suffering in Israeli jails to be even worsened. As raids inside the prisons are increasing, inmates are injured or even dying, Stop the Wall joins the Palestinian Higher Committee for Prisoners Affairs for regular protests in support of the over 5000 Palestinians in Israeli prisons.

Together with the children of the local school that Israel wants to demolish, Palestinian grassroots movements, including Stop the Wall, and the Cultural Center of Beit Anan, held on Tuesday February 5 an act of defiance and steadfastness.

This year started with continuous, popular protests across the West Bank and with actions of solidarity between the people to strengthen the steadfastness of those in the frontlines of the Israeli attacks. As Israel attempts to push forward its policies of expulsion and apartheid in the occupied West Bank, resistance continues and grows from community to community.

Israeli occupation forces have started 2019 with intense attacks across the West Bank, including military invasions, destructions of the fields of Palestinian farmers, destructions of homes and heavy attempts to confiscate more and more land. The aim is to accelerate the final steps in the Israeli plan of ghettoization that is to turn their apartheid regime in a permanent fixture on Palestinian land.

In Palestine we have already organised a number of protests and activities, resisting Israel’s apartheid Wall and occupation… and this is only the start. We anticipate that Israel, especially in a year of elections and under the unconditional protection of the US administration, will escalate its attacks on our people and our land. Let’s stand together in joint resistance and more than that:

Let’s make 2019 a crucial year for our collective struggle not only against Israel’s apartheid Wall but for a #WorldwithoutWalls!

People in Ramallah have taken to the streets in protest over Israel's brutal military escalation against the Gaza Strip that has killed already 15 Palestinians, injured scores and wrecked havock over the already besieged Strip.

10 days to the Second Global Day of InterAction for a #WorldwithoutWalls! As the countdown starts and movements and organizations across the world are preparing to join in, Stop the Wall releases a first list of planned activities. It's an inspiring coming together of diverse actions united by the determination to build effective solidarity and joint struggles to challenge the walls that oppress, exploit, exclude, discriminate and kill.

On Saturday 200 youth activists from all across the West Bank met in the Second Conference of the Palestine Youth Forum to build together strategies and tools for struggle. Entitled “Youth for Change” the conference aimed to define the vision and objectives of the Palestine Youth Forum and  work plan for the coming two years.

We are following closely the trial of the murder of Berta Cáceres, leader of the Civil Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations in Honduras (COPINH), being held from September 10-28. A death squad assassinated  her on March 2, 2016 in her home and wounded Gustavo Castro, member of Friends of the Earth Mexico.
