Restricting Movement

Nabi Saleh: During the weekly protest at Nabi Saleh on Friday 18th March, against the wall and settlements, the Israeli Occupation Forces fired tear gas, rubber bullets and skunk water at protestors, injuring two Palestinians, Wa'ad Tamimi (15 years), and Walid al-Tamimi (16 years) and one international activist. A choir from Scotland attended the protest and sang songs of solidarity at the front of the procession.

Attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians in the West Bank continue apace, while the occupational forces provide the aggressors' with protection. The attacks, ranging from destruction of fruit trees to seizure of land, demonstrate Israel's continued commitment to policies of terrorism and ethnic cleansing as they continue to expand and build on stolen land.

In the mass protest in Hebron this Friday, Palestinian member of Knesset Mohammed Baraka was injured in his right leg and dozens of other Palestinians suffered further injuries as the occupation forces were shooting tear gas and sound bombs into the crowd to disperse the demonstration. The protest was called by the political forces in the governorate of Hebron, the Stop the Wall Campaign and the Committee for the defense of Hebron in the eighteenth anniversary of the massacre in the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Occupation forces have confiscated 9 dunums of land from Shufat north of Jerusalem to expand the military checkpoint located on the western entrance to Shufat refugee camp. This checkpoint links Shufat Refugee Camp and Anata town with Jerusalem. Locals confirmed that the Occupation wants to develop this checkpoint into a “border terminal”. Further land around this fortified checkpoint will be confiscated as a ‘security’ zone.
