Torture and Ill-treatment

The Palestinian political prisoners have become a symbol of steadfastness and unbreakable determination to stand up for freedom and justice. Counting on nothing more than their own imprisoned bodies and their free spirits, their hunger strikes have already been able to raise awareness and mobilize people across Palestine and the world.

This morning over a thousand people gathered in front of the Red Cross building in Ramallah/Al Bireh to join the protest organized by the Palestinian youth movements and political parties in solidarity with Khadr Adnan and all Palestinian political prisoners.

The protest was organized in conjunction with a general strike proclaimed from noon time to 2 pm.

Ramallah, 14 February 2012 – Herak Shebabi expresses its grave concern for the life of Khader Adnan, who received no decision yet in the appeal against his administrative detention order. On the 59th day of his hunger strike, Khader’s health has entered an alarmingly critical stage that will likely have irreversible consequences and could lead to his fatal collapse at any moment.
