OSPAAAL´S SECOND CALL
SOLIDARITY WITH THE PEOPLES OF PALESTINE AND LEBANON

Palestine & Lebanon News, , July 22nd, 2006

The Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL) strongly condemns the continuation of the criminal actions carried out by the Israeli army against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and the unjustified attack against Lebanon under the vulgar pretext of liberating two of its soldiers captured by the Lebanese resistance.

Our tricontinental organization is profoundly indignant about this new Zionist aggression against the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon, which involves the mobilization of thousands of soldiers, war tanks and the use of forbidden conventional weapons in conditions of total inequality in military terms; the arbitrary arrest of relevant figures of the government of the Palestinian National Authority and of members of its Legislative Council; the indiscriminate air raids that destroy the infrastructure to provoke a situation of earnest humanitarian crisis and the death of several hundreds of innocent civilians, among them children, women and elderly persons.

The United States, the unconditional ally of Israel, with its revolting double moral against terrorism, does not surprise us when it prevents by means of the veto –which it has misused and abused 39 times concerning the rights of the Arab peoples – the adoption of resolutions of the Security Council of the United Nations that might contribute to preserve peace and defend life.

It is evident that the empire seeks death and the extension of lies, that its real purposes focus on the target of stimulating Israel’s expansionist policy, granting that country total impunity in its genocidal policy against the Palestinian people, the attack against Lebanon and its destruction, and in its violations of the aerial space and renewed threats against the Arab Republic of Syria.

The new war escalade definitely aims at the destruction of the forms of firm resistance faced by the strategic domination plans of the Zionist-imperialist alliance, and entails serious danger for peace in crucial moments, in which a significant agreement had just been reached between the Palestinian political forces that undoubtedly strengthens its fair and heroic cause.

In the face of this dramatic situation, OSPAAAL, convinced that only an effective international response will stop the Zionist aggressor, a true military and nuclear power, and its indisputable ally and protector, the United States, calls upon all progressive, patriotic and anti-imperialist forces in the world to show their solidarity with the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon, demanding the full suspension of these genocidal and criminal actions and the retreat of the Israeli military forces from all territories occupied since 1967.

OSPAAAL confirms both brotherly peoples its deepest feelings of solidarity, for the sake of peace, in defense of the Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity, and in favor of the full acknowledgement of the right of the Palestinian people, which can never be given up, to the creation of its own independent State with its capital located in East Jerusalem.
